We have been hosted for long time by the community of Fumbini in Kilifi, where there is a small beach on the creek. It becomes very busy on the weekend. Living near the shore and knowing the neighbourhood, we realised that it was missing facilities. People using the bush to relieve themselves was eventually creating embarrassing encounters and made the area unhygienic.

With the consensus of the local community, we started to build a drop toilet with a roof from which rainwater could be harvested and used. Luckily we were a lot on board in that period and in a short time we managed to compete the project and provide the opportunity for people that frequent the beach to the toilet honourably.
