We built a playground in the primary school of Kipini with communal access to all. This was our first project in the remote village of Kipini in northern Kenya, the place where the Musafir was constructed.

The idea came after living there for many months and noticing the need for a clean and neat place for children to play and interact. Kipini was sadly a community with bad waste management. Many of the kids were getting skin infections and bugs that proliferated in dirty the environment. The first step was getting the authorisation and the consensus from the community, then the place where to do it.

Since we had already interacted with the school with small daily activities it was easy to get their agreement. Being in the centre of town, with trees for shade, it was the perfect spot.Offering our labour, skills and will to make things happen, we used off cuts from the construction of the Musafir, and recycled material, with the intention to minimise the cost and allow the play ground to be repaired locally at zero cost. The project also presented something that could be duplicated by the local communities.At the end of the construction we had an official opening with the children, local Chief and elders of the community.
