The Musafirs were learning a lot during the construction process and everything seemed to be going well until the fundis determined that the available materials were no longer suitable and stopped the day to day work.
Several people were contacted to find the right kind of wood but none of them worked out, meaning that the work had to be stopped for several months.
Only one Musafir remained in Kipini while the others preferred to leave and to work to finance the project.
However, not everything was in vain. Children started playing in the boatyard, filling it with laughter and music. This made it possible to develop closer friendly ties with the local community.
